Melissa Ambroise has been practicing Yoga since her youth and teaching professionally since 2006. While learning to instruct others with her mentor Laurie Ahleman, the two also developed and pioneered a training for Nassau County Boces teachers to bring yoga into the classroom. Together they also created a teacher training program in which Melissa taught the sciences, such as Myology and Neurology. As a Yoga instructor to a varied segment of the population (including children, seniors, and adults who have developmental challenges), she has an integrative approach to healing through the body, mind, and spirit.

In addition to being a New York State Licensed Massage Therapist, she is dedicated to Svadhyaya (self-study) and Seva (selfless service) through healing work such as Reiki, Pranic Healing, and Integrated Energy Therapy. In order to further the ability to serve, she has become an International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA) Certified Fitness Trainer, which allows her to wed the intuition of Yoga with the science of Kinesiology. Ever expanding, Melissa has recently become a practicing Doula as well.

Melissa’s original training was at Thomas Ahern’s School of Massage Therapy in Mariposa, CA. When she moved back to NY, she graduated from The New York College of Health Professions. Melissa has a fitness training education from ISSA. She is continuing her education in massage/energy work techniques and has about 1,000 hours including Thai Yoga Massage, Reiki Master Level, Integrated Energy Therapy, Pranic Healing, and Traditional Native American Hot Stone Therapy.
